About David Malecki

A marketing strategist with a passion for multimedia production, digital storytelling, and brand development. With a background in advertising, visual media, and campaign planning, I combine creative insight with strategic thinking to deliver content that connects, converts, and builds long-term brand value.

 

Currently, I manage all social media and digital marketing efforts for Swilled Dog, a premium craft spirits brand, and support the growth of Committed Spirits, an initiative focused on bringing purpose-driven bourbons to NIL collectives and beyond. My work spans marketing strategy, content creation, and e-commerce optimization, all aimed at driving awareness, engagement, and sales across channels.

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications and Bachelor's in Advertising and Public Relations from West Virginia University, where I developed a strong foundation in strategic marketing, digital media, and consumer behavior. While at WVU, I served as a graduate assistant with the University Relations creative team, producing photography and social media content for university events, athletics, and campus life. Additionally, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for an advanced advertising course in collaboration with Merkley + Partners in New York City.

 

Outside my full-time role, I bring freelance experience in multimedia production, having worked with clients such as Primoprint and Orthos Liquid Systems. This diverse background across advertising, content creation, and digital marketing empowers me to craft innovative, results-driven solutions that elevate brand positioning and support business objectives.

RIVER BIRCH CAFE

For a graduate-level course, I had the opportunity to create a 4-minute and 1-minute marketing video for my favorite coffee shop and rooftop bar in town. This video brought an exciting challenge, as River Birch Cafe hits all the points of a unique coffee shop: great location, unique fresh food and drink options, community charm, and a rooftop bar. However, they feel they could benefit from more WVU students.

Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation - AAFPittsburgh ThePitch

An original campaign where I led the strategy and overall direction for the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation as a part of ThePitch 2023. While they have a strong operation as a nonprofit, the client needed to get their name out more, as well as rebrand with a unifying theme and identity across social media channels. Our team worked at Fifth Influence, a cause-driven agency specializing in digital strategy and political campaigns.
